How it works
Three things, and that’s it.
01You pick the apps.
Whichever ones you like, in a group. Each group has its own drain rate: one minute of tank can unlock one minute of Instagram, or 10 minutes of podcasts.
Apps group · 1 min for 1 min
02You move to reopen them.
Phone flat under your chest or propped up in front of you. It counts the reps itself — sensors, camera, or both confirming each other.
1 min for every full push-up
03It drains while you watch.
No timer ticking away in the background: only the minutes you actually spend in the app count. Once the tank is empty, the veil comes back on the spot.

The exchange rate
What effort is worth, spelled out.
The starting rate of the only exercise in this first version. You can adjust it: a push-up can go up to 5 min of screen time, and nothing stops you from being stricter than that.
- per push-up, to start
- 1 min
- per push-up, at its most generous
- 5 min

- 3 h
A push-up counted is a push-up done: the camera counts them, and the ones that don’t go down far enough don’t count. We tell you which. Beyond 3 h, it’s lost — and we tell you so.
The four questions
What you’re already wondering.
“Can’t I just shake my phone?”
A set done to a metronome is turned down. A range of motion that’s too short is never counted — and it isn’t a failure either, it simply doesn’t exist. Every rep that’s thrown out is shown with its reason, never silently.

“What if it locks at the worst moment?”
You can borrow 10 min, right away. You pay it back with 12 min 30 s of effort, out of what you earn next. It’s capped at 30 min, and borrowing switches off entirely if you’d rather not have a way out.
10 min12 min 30 sto pay back
“How do I get rid of it?”
One screen lifts every restriction and tells you exactly what it removed. It’s never behind a payment, and if your subscription runs out, everything lifts on its own. An app that holds your phone hostage isn’t a tool.
Unlocking everything and erasing everything stay free, for life.
“What do you know about me?”
The names of the apps you block never leave the device, and neither do the names of your groups. No account, no email, no questionnaire: a nickname drawn at random on first launch, which you can change.
The server sees group IDs. Never an app name.

Questions
Everything else, briefly.
A question that isn’t here? A guide probably covers it.
Is it on Android?
Not yet. Pushtank comes to iPhone first; the Android version is in the works, with the same rules and the same thresholds.
Do I have to do the push-ups in front of the camera?
Yes. The phone stands in front of you, the camera counts, and nothing it sees is recorded or sent to our servers: it reads joint positions, not video.
Is it only push-ups?
In this first version, yes. One exercise counted honestly beats twelve counted roughly, and push-ups are the one whose measurement holds up. The others will come once they count as well — without you having to update the app.
What happens if I stop paying?
Every restriction lifts on its own. The tank, the reserve and your history stay where they are, and a renewal picks them back up. An app that holds your phone hostage because a payment failed isn’t a tool.
Can my kids use it on their phones?
The purchase works with Family Sharing, and each person gets their own profile, their own tank and their own rates. Nobody sees anybody else’s apps.
How much time can my tank hold?
Up to 3 h. Beyond that, the time you earn is lost — and we tell you the moment it happens, rather than letting it vanish silently.
Your phone reopens once you’ve moved.
5 min of credit when you install, long enough to see what it does. After that, it’s up to you to fill it.
